Situated at 1,795 metres (5,889 ft) above sea level, Nairobi has a moderate climate. The warmest months of the year are from December to March, which are sunny but pleasant. However, due to the altitude of Nairobi, expect some chilly evenings, especially during winter in June/July. Nairobi has two rainy seasons, with long rains between March and May, and short rains in November.
