- The Wildebeest Migration
This is one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on the planet and this year in the masai mara it has happened as early as June thanks to the heavy rains early in the year. Numerous wildebeests are expected to migrate from Tanzania's Serengeti National Park into the Masai Mara and remain until late November.
- Music and Food Festivals.
Drama and music Festivals for schools in Kenya take place during the second term of the academic year and the climax is during the month of July and the general public is invited. Also non educational institutions like Government departments, parastatals and local clubs holds a cultural Music Festival during the month of October at each province. Traditional dances, acrobatics, folk music are performed during the colourful event. Winners also make their presentations to the President at State house after which they become Kenya's cultural choirs for the whole year and are invited during natinal holidays and functions to entertain the public.
- The Kenya Utalii College Food Festival
Locally known as "Uhondo Africa", this is an event where different cuisines from different cultural backgrounds of Kenya and the world are displayed and visitors are welcome to have a taste. Also there is plenty of entertainment based on the rich Afrian culture, art, dances and fashion. This year the event is set on 30th July
- Nairobi Arts Festivals
For those interested in the Arts, exhibitions to do with art works, paintings, traditional artifacts and theatre perfomances are usually held at places such as the National Museums of Kenya, the Nairobi National Theatre, Alliance Francais, Oshwal Centre, the Village Market, Goethe Institue, Phoenix Centre and RaMoMa just to mention a few. Festivals around National Holidays
In Kenya, National Public Holidays are important occasions for local residents who come from all corners and usually attend in large numbers. The principal reason for most of them is the entertainment which is both directed to the public and largely to the President and Political Leaders in attendance. Presentations of Traditional Dancers and acrobatics, Poetry and music, plays and skits, the armed forces, Police, Navy and air force, local choirs from schools and other government and non goverment institutions. The events are usually held at the Nairobi based Sports Stadiums or at the Uhuru Gardens near the CBD. Such public Holidays include
Moi Day - 10th October every year
Kenyatta Day - 20th October every year
Independence Day - 12th December every year
